2. Garlic Mashed Potatoes; and

3. Chocolate Chunk Strawberry Brownie with Cream Cheese Icing.

I actually use butter, with everything thing that’s in the alternatives I just use butter in moderation or clarifiled butter. i stopped frying so now I really only use Olive Oil and i like the flavored ones as well that I find at Tj maxx. Cream…I don’t use that much unless baking or something. Congrats on the Dr. Oz show!

Grilled Chicken Alfredo is one of my favorites. I have never considered Greek Yogurt as a substitute, but if it saves calories, I’m down to try anything. It will definitely be on the menu at my house very soon. I eat lots of salads and try to minimize the dressing to stay healthy. But my love for pasta is always present, so whatever we can do to make it a bit healthier for me, I’m on board.

I’ve tried the alfredo recipe but used sour cream as a substitute. I’m looking forward to trying these options. I just wish I liked yogurt plain. The taste tends to be bitter with a rancid after taste for me. Do you have any suggestions on how to liven up plain yogurt so I can add it into my daily diet?

Try different herbs or seasonings to liven up the flavor in dishes. Also if you are using it in desserts you could always use fruit greek yogurt like yummy blueberry or strawberry.

Oh my goodness, I was going to say Greek yogurt too. However, I also use butter sprays. Foods that I eat to stay healthy are lots of fruit. I love fruit.

I LOVE greek yogurt! I was skeptical in the beginning to try it because I don’t like regular yogurt but the texture is thicker and I just genuinely liked it better. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to try your recipes using it.

I would have never thought to use greek yogurt for Fettuccine Alfredo or mashed potatoes! I use a yogurt substitute spread but this seems even better and also more cost efficient given the multiple uses on top of just eating the yogurt with fruit for breakfast or a snack. Hoping Dr. Oz brings you back to share more great recipes like these!!

I love the idea of using Greek yogurt as a butter substitute. Don’t get me wrong, I love to use butter, but it’s great to have a healthy and delicious alternative.

I never thought of using Greek yogurt instead of butter. Thanks for that tip and great job on a major TV network appearance.

Wow, congrats!! I’m not a fan of Greek yogurt on its own, but maybe I’ll try it in some stuff.

I’ve used Greek Yogurt to substitute for sour cream, but never butter. We don’t use much, so I figure it’s okay:)

Hi Utokia,
Oh rats! Don’t know how, but I missed the 10/22 broadcast. I normally tape each Dr. OZ show for later viewing. Do you know if there’ll be a re-airing of the show?.
Thanks for the email samplings of your recipes. I’ve tried a couple–loved the Dijon, Lime Salmon. Please keep them coming!

I saw the Doctor Oz episode with my mom because she kept talking about how you were going to be on it and I enjoyed learning ways to use Greek yogurt in different recipes. Recently I was making dessert for some guest and forgot the eggs for the cake, but I remembered that you used some Greek yogurt so I raided the fridge for the yogurt and now everyone keeps talking about the cake and yeah. So thank you for the Greek yogurt ideas.
